AM:
4 hour hike! A little over 10 miles. My GPS stopped tracking on my phone and did a straight line calculation between 2 points. My wife’s tracker did not have the problem and reported over 10 miles.
Today was an Epic hike day. We did a bit over 10 miles today in 4 hours. We parked at the Seneca Tract and hiked to the left following the Potomac Heritage Trail to the Algonkian Regional Park. We followed the trail through a golf course and found nature was with us the whole way. Birds, squirrels, fish, frogs, turtles, and deer, we saw it all today. At one point we saw 4 or 5 woodpeckers in one area. We also found some ripe Pawpaws and shook some from the trees. Miriam enjoyed one on the spot giving me a little taste of it. We had lunch at the club house at the Algonkian golf course which is part of the regional park, or atleast right next to the park. The Picture of the water falls and club house was at the Trump golf course we needed to travel through (on the Potomac Heritage trail) to get to Algonkian regional park. With the exception of our starting point, this hike was almost all even terrain. Going to the right when hiking at Seneca Tract is not flat land hiking. Today was a great day outdoors with my honey bunny!
