Work was less than exciting, but we worked it anyway. Small project leading into the time of a large project we are not a part of…unless there is a problem. These guys don’t have a great track record of not having problems.

Nothing exciting today. Work passed by just fine and my wife surprised me and wanted to make dinner! That was nice. So all in all today was a good day.

I was slow getting to the gym this AM since I spent some bonus time in the bathroom. I seem to be a little off schedule. I did OK in the afternoon and all seems to be well so that is good. I shared the Great Falls video with my friend Michelle. She is still in the hospital doing Occupational therapy and Physical therapy. Once she completes it she will be back home again. She enjoyed it and I am hoping saw it as a virtual hike with us. We will most likely be recording every dumb thing we do, but we should capture some good stuff along the way too.

We took the new video camera with us and will be making the first hike video. We have 60 minutes of raw hiking and now the challenge will be to edit it down to something fun and much shorter.

So we are preparing for the big bad storms. So far we have had light rains and no basement flooding. Tomorrow could ramp up, but so far it has been a pleasure, in as much as you can have on a rainy day.

My legs are so sore from yesterday’s heavy lifts! I was feeling it all day. That is both good and bad. I know I worked them good, but I also feel rubbery as I walk. Maybe tomorrow I will be back to normal.

Walked on treadmill for 10 minutes at incline
WORK: I worked hard today. We assembled exhaust hoods for the new data cabinets and we worked a solid 6 hours doing manual labor. They got their money’s worth out of me today.
So after work I decided it was time to get the GoPro Camera. I went with the GoPro Hero 4 Silver edition. It was 399.99 plus tax. I also needed a memory card, 49.99 and a headband mount for the camera 29.99. I talked with the salesperson (See Politically correct even though it was a guy making him a salesman) and explained I also needed a selfie stick but could not spend 50.00 on one and that I saw cheaper ones on line. He asked if I wanted to look online for a price match opportunity. I said yes! I started following him to the computer to see what we could find but then I decided to do one more lap through the add ons and found a combo deal with a head mount and a selfie stick but there was no price. Well the salesperson found me a great deal on Amazon that included what I wanted and more! I paid 399.99 plus tax and was given 219 dollars in accessories for FREE! That sure took the pain out of buying the GoPro. Thank you Amazon and thank you Salesman for helping me maximize my spending power.
What does this mean? We in the future instead of being overwhelmed by the pictures we take hiking, you will not be flooded with short video clips as well. I think that makes us all winners. Unless you hate seeing our pictures (and future videos) then it will be even more crap to ignore or pretend you like, Lol.

I worked off site today. Work flowed well but I noticed there were some pieces of equipment that were hooked up that I did not hook up. I reported it ans will see what comes of it. I am exploring the idea of getting a video camera to record more of our adventures. I think some video would be a nice touch. The problem I am having is selecting the right one. Some are better with sound quality, some have great features and others are made for rugged use including being fully submerged in water! We do get wet and rained on so that is a plus, but will take a hit on sound quality with those ones. Budget is the other area. There are some OK ones in the 99 to 140 range. They might be perfectly fine for us, but I am interested in the better ones, at least at this point. They are 400-600 dollars. That is a lot! but I think getting years out of one and capturing our vacations would be well worth the extra costs. I got time to choose. GoPros are in the lead right now but things could change.
