Today I worked offsite. My day went well. So I thought. Turns out the computer I logged into was reserved for disaster recovery efforts and my logging in locked out the folks responsible for those actions. The knuckleheads had my information and could have emailed me and let me know, after all I was in the email system, but nope, it went from the 7th floor down to the oversight manager, to my boss and then around a few more times then back to my boss. Our government guy was cool about it and was disappointed no one included him in the emails. He had something to say about it. After The site has live and production services running not just recovery efforts and the computer is not marked or labeled not for us. I caused some drama and did not even know it. For a little while I expected there to be some kind of corrective action taken against me, up to and including some time off without pay, but I was over reacting to the paranoid fears I wound myself up in. I can laugh now.
