My boys at work are at it again. I had to explain to the one engineer connections should stay in rack instead of connecting to the next rack over. They both have the same network access though the top of rack switch. Him: I don’t know that there a top of rack switch there. ME: you gave me the port assignments for it a week ago, it is there. So he makes that change. Problem child #2 turns in a request with the wrong information. I ask for it to be updated, 24 hours go by and no response. 12 to 15 people have been included in the email, no one answers the questions. Government guy emails today asking if the situation has been resolved. I write back letting him know he was the first to respond to the email. That forced the engineer to respond he will get back to me with the information. Day ends and I never heard back from him. Simply shit, folks acting like this is rocket science, 2 identical pieces of equipment, which one do you need connected? Silence. how do you not know which one of 2 pieces of equipment you need connected. I mean really, one is new and one has been here for years. Do you really not know which one needs a new connection? Is this something that 36+ hours to figure out? I should have taken some engineering classes, I bet I could easily be better at these jobs than half the guys here. Atleast from my experiences.
