Today was a normal day at work. My buddy was more busy than me but we both got done what we needed to. Tomorrow looks like it will be a shopping day after work. I might even pick up a holiday gift or two.

Today started with an adventure. My alarm clock app on my cell phone did not go off at 3:30 AM as it has since I got the phone. This was the stock app that came with the phone. I reset the alarm to test it, nothing. I turned the phone off and on again and nothing. I had to download an alarm app of google play just so I can have my alarm again. This was crappy. Good thing my wife gets up at 4:15 am so I only lost 45 minutes of time this AM. I had did not have the time to go to the gym though. I needed to ride the bike at home. It is not as good a workout but it sure beats not exercising. I am glad I found that curbside.

There are some new folks putting in work requests and they don’t have it down. Looks like there is gunna be some learnin to be done. On the plus side we are in the lotto pool and got my fingers crossed.

Today was an easy paced day. I worked out at home, watched some TV and then the wife and I headed into Shirlington for some lunch. From there we headed home for a bit then off again to do some grocery shopping. The best part of the day was decorating the tree. The cats seemed to have taken an interest is some of the decorations.

Today we were crazy! Like always. We decided to throw caution to the wind and go out for hike even though rain and snow was in the forecast. On our way out we saw the volunteers laying wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery.
We decided to go to Turkey Run park and when we got their the park was closed! WTF? We then headed out to Scott’s Run and hiked there. We had the place to ourselves. There was only one other car in the lot (usually we need to go to the second lot just to park). We did our hike and was pleased to see all the snow that was still there on the ground. It totally looked like a different place. It was actually somewhat confusing. I was uncertain which way to turn to make a loop for us and we ended up referencing the GPS multiple times. We eventually made it back to the truck and were worried with what we saw. A state trooper sitting in his car facing my truck. There was also 2 other vehicles in the lot. As we approached the trooper pulled off. I don’t know if he was running the licence plates of the vehicles in the parking lot looking for anything in particular, or if that was his favorite lunch spot to stop. We had a good time and really liked how different the park is with less green and blankets of white.

today was a crazy work day. I spent 3 days on a project and completed it on Monday. After I was done an engineer decided he needed to change the whole thing. Maybe I will be able to make the changes next week.
I am glad the weekend is here. I am ready for a day of hiking in the cold followed by a day relaxing inside. Let’s see if it happens that way.

Today was one of those days. I was up 15 minutes before my alarm so I could pee. Not enough time to go back to bed so I was in the gym earlier and was able to spend more time there, since today I was going to Manassas. Work flowed and I made it back to the office with time to spare. Now my honey is home and it is time to enjoy her company.

My workout felt good today. Work felt OK too until my new buddy decided to push my buttons. He did not know he was doing it, and that doesn’t matter. He did it. Also he is not really a buddy, just someone that I had the unfortunate coincidence of having to do some work for. I feel like Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory, another name on the list. It is OK thought because my coworker also is doing a project for this guy and it is a larger task so he too will enjoy his interactions.

So today was a snow day. At times it was snowing and it was even snowing hard, but it never accumulated to anything. If you listened to the news you would have been huddling in the basement thinking the end was near. The news channels were whipping everyone up into a frenzy. Estimates were for 1 to 2 inches in most of the area with isolated areas getting 3-6 inches. Even at the worst case, 6 inches is not the end of the world. The temps were above freezing and even if 6 inches fell, nothing was sticking and accumulating.
Here are some birds enjoying the snow day. The fools were bathing in the water puddles!
The best of it all though was my wife. I love her, she is the best! I bought a Christmas tree and have it standing up in the kitchen area near the island. She came home went into the kitchen area, set her work stuff at the end of the island and did not see the tree! Really, she did not see the tree. I asked her to go back into the dining room and look around. after a minute I hear her laugh and say “you got a Christmas tree!”

The weather outside was frightful, I did get a sight full, of all the rain, ice and snow, but I still had to go, had to go, had to go, to work. Work was OK but we got a new batch of guys in that really need to learn the request system. I redid some work from last week only to hear the guy requesting the redo, did not do the redo correctly. I will now need to redo the redo. Tomorrow is set to be a partially wet morning with the chance of Snowpocalype hitting causing mass hysteria, looting and riots. Our area had 30,000+ folks with out power from the sorry storm that hit yesterday. Tomorrow could be worse, or it could be nothing. I feel just like a little kid waiting to wake up Christmass mornign to open gifts! Lol.
