46 min 3 miles on treadmill

Today was another work day. My engineers got me again. I think I need to start making things up and seeing how far I can push the ridiculousness before they catch on. Dude calls me with a “problem with the fiber”. It is the same one from a month ago with the same problem. Dude went all month and did not fix the problem. I alerted him to the potential problem once my work was complete. Nothing. Nada, zip. So in September we went over this and I identified the problem was his equipment. Same as when I completed the work. Today same thing. Finally he figured it out and realized it was not the cabling. Dude, how do you even have this job?

Tomorrow is a new adventure. I hope it will not be at the mental hospital again. The Meds are not working for those engineers.

Work was crazy busy. We still are stacked with projects as we slowly catch up. It is OK though, I am enjoying the hustle since time flies.

I saw on the news that ISIS has named Washington as one of its next targets. I am sure we have our best and brightest working on the defense, but I am glad I am in Virginia where we have the ability to carry concealed weapons should some terrorist or whackjob decide they want to hurt innocent people. We have people that will defend themselves and their families. I am also glad some governors are refusing to accept “refugees” into their states. Why on Earth are we taking in people that have mixed in with them terrorists? Some things just don’t make sense.

I needed new tires for the front wheels of my truck so we went to Alexandria to NTB and bought some then walked around Alexandria before walking home. We walked longer than I thought we would but I survived. All is good.

AM:
Hike at Donaldson Run

I felt pretty good for most of the hike. I did push it up a nice uphill section and did fine, or so I thought. I ended up coughing a lot at the top to the point I started to dry heave. I felt fine otherwise. Towards the end of the hike I was tired and was happy to make it back to the truck. I had a nap after lunch and felt better again. Let us see what tomorrow brings.

Work was peaceful, I was alone offsite and did not need to deal with any of the engineers.

I maybe getting sick again. I am feeling it in my coughs. I am hoping not, but I am being realistic about how I am feeling.

Holy Shit France!!! I am sick of all the western countries letting in “refugees” and illegal aliens. These fuckers do not want to come to our countries to become a part of what we are, they are coming in to hurt us. That is unacceptable. More people in America need to get their Concealed Carry Permits in the states that allow them. Your only chance against terrorists intent on killing you is to be able to shoot back. Begging for your life will not save you. Calling the police, they will not get there in time, it is up to you to defend yourself. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

ISIS threatened they would be sending terrorists to infiltrate western countries, it is about time we start listening to, and believing those that wish us harm.

Work was CRAZY AGAIN! People need to be fired. I needed to go Off site to patch the EMERGENCY equipment that the engineers wanted me to go pre-wire on Tuesday afternoon (big NoGo, my boss put a stop to it) The assured us as soon as they finished building the boxes they were going out to Manassas to be hooked up, as late as Veterans Day. I was given a deadline of noon today to be completed with the wiring. I get there and guess what, the fucking equipment is not even on site. The fuckers wanted me to drive in bumper to bumper traffic to wire “an Emergency” that was going to be ready no later than Veterans Day, and the day after it is not even on site. My Boss lost his mind over it. It gets better, there was not enough power in the rack for the equipment ( I discovered and reported it ). The dummy had meeting and discussions and finally came up with the idea to remove something else from the rack so they could power the new device up. Amateurs, all of them. If this was not a government contract they would have been fired. It is a shame what goes on. Some days I think I could do as good a job as these guys do and I am not an engineer. I think I could fake it till I make it.

I am feeling slightly better again. Little steps to normalcy.

Today Is Veterans Day. Many local restaurants are offering free meals to soldiers and Vets.

I had a free Breakfast at IHOP including 2 eggs, hash browns, sausage, and 2 pancakes.

Lunch I went to AppleBee’s and shared a table with 2 Marines and an Army soldier since the place was packed. I had the 7oz steak with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies.

For dinner I went to Champs and had a bacon blue cheese burger with fries and a soda.Champs allowed Veterans to spend up to 15 dollars, and my meal came in at…15.00.

So today I ate out for (almost) free all day. I did pay for a cup of tea at IHOP and a soda at Applebees. Champs was the only place I had the entire meal covered. Ofcourse I tipped well at each place so there was that expense as well, but I still got off cheap with free meals. This was the first time I ever paid attantion to freebies and next year the wife and I will plan to do the same thing together. Why not? It is offered and we earned it.

We had a fox resting in our backyard this AM! He is had to see but if you look to the right of the tree and back along the fence you should be able to make him out.

And you know I could not go all day without taking one picture of my meals. So here is the burger and fries.

In the Pentagon Row area they install an ice rink for the winter. Folks were out enjoying it during dinner time.

Work was the usual day it is. We have 7 requests on hold due to Engineers not getting it right.

I was frustrated from work and decided to go to Target after work to pick up a few things. So I went to Target to get some clearance Halloween stuff. I noticed this lady was staring at me in the same aisle I was in. No biggie. I moved to the next aisle and here she comes. Again… STARING! So now I’m like, What is her problem?! I finish up my shopping and head to the check out line. Of course who is there ahead of me but this same lady. She turns around and starts staring again. So I start playing with my phone so I don’t have to look at her. Finally she says “I want to apologize for staring at you, but you look just like my son who just passed away.” I felt really bad after that and gave her my condolences. She says “Thank you…but I have a favor to ask. I know it’s weird and understand if you don’t want to, but can you give me a hug and say ‘Bye Mama’ to me?” Inside I was like Really?!??!, but understanding grief the way that I do, I went ahead and did it. She smiles, thanks me, and leaves.
The cashier rings up my stuff and the total comes out to $100.87. I knew something wasn’t right, because it should have been like $40 or so. The cashier then tells me that my total was included with my mom’s. I’m like, “What?!!!” She said, “Your mom said you were paying for her last few items along with your things. I told her that the woman was most definitely NOT my mom. She said, well I saw you hug her and heard you call her mama. I’m like OMG…I flew out of the store looking for this witch, ready to get her, I see her loading up her car! She saw me and jumped in her car, I got to her as she was putting her leg in, and I started pulling her leg hard enough that her wooden leg came off , so I grabbed her other leg and started pulling !! just like I’m pulling yours right now! Hahaha… It’s too good not to share, feel free to copy and paste…

4 mile walk through the neighborhoods with my wife.

I am still sick but felt much better today. I do not feel the weight of the crap in my lungs like I have been. I do still have congestion and coughing, but it is different now, and that is a good thing.
