Week 1 Day 3

Just for fun I decided to weigh myself and see what 2 full days of eating better might do.

Not Bad. Had I gone to the bathroom first I am sure that would be a full 3 pounds down. I am sure it is not just water weight since I have been doing Cardio for over a year with no results. Adding weight training and diet control is the winning way.

Today’s cardio workout was 30 min of walking on a treadmill at up to a 8% incline up to 3.4 mph. Then 20 min of a lower body only elliptical machine. Not to bad.  I felt good and had sweated some for sure.

Meals where easy again.
Breakfast was 3 egg whites, 1 yoke, 2 morningstar fake sausage patties and an orange for 434 calories.

Snack was a small amount of steak with cooked broccoli and some raw carrots.

Lunch was Shrimp, tortellini with EVOO, and mixed veggies

Afternoon snack was another small amount of steak, cooked brocolli, and raw carrots.

The afternoon workout was 45 minutes of weight lifting and 15 min of Cardio. The main exercise today was using the smith machine with an adjustable bench that goes full upright for overhead presses to fully flat for bench presses. We do a weight for reps at each of the 8 positions starting full upright. Then we lower the weight and do it again. That is 16 sets of chest press exercise. We then did 3 sets of lateral raises, 4 sets of lat pull downs and 3 sets of crunches. We finished the day with 15 min of treadmill. It is rough only walking. When I was lighter back in 2002 I ran the Army ten mile race and averaged 10:15 miles for the ten miles. A couple years later I did the Baltimore half marathon (with an infected ingrown toenail!). The toe issue required surgery and caused me to stop running for about 8 weeks. I never got back into the groove after that.  I was struggling to jog 2 miles then I stopped again for a while after some pain and swelling in my Achilles heel. I never got back to it and now I can’t jog for 3 min straight. Damn that bothers me.

OK back on track here, I had another great day, made progress and look forward to tomorrow!
