AM:
pedaled bike as wife jogged 2 miles.

Bonus AM:
50 min elliptical machine

PM:
5 mile walk to and from (plus walking while there) the Arlington County Fair.

Today felt like a normal day, except my back was bothering me. We got a nice walk in, I still made it to the gym, and I helped my wife get some jogging in. I even had a nap. It was only a little over an hour, but it was good. Hopefully tomorrow I will be up for a nature hike.

Anyone that has a minute please say a prayer for Michelle, she had 8 hours of surgery today.

We had work to do today! We got swamped, 1 emergency trouble shoot, 1 completion of a task from yesterday, and one request from start to finish! We rocked it. Then IT happened. Something I ate did not agree with me and I needed to race to the bathroom for a long reading rood session. Then as I was heading to the gym there was another disturbance in the Force. I needed to go home and poop my brains out again! Crazy, I do not even know what did it to me, but it was bad!

I had work to do but not the ability to do it without the needed information. It is funny how that works. A knucklehead calls looking for a STATUS UPDATE. We I raised 3 questions that need to be answered before any work can proceed, did you provide the answers? No, So brainiac, What status change do you think occurred since yesterday afternoon?

Today I felt really sore again so I did not work out in the afternoon. I guess I will be off weight lifting for 3 to 4 weeks. This is beat since I was getting stronger and enjoying the effort I was putting in, but having this level of discomfort AND not being able to lift like I was is not working. Oh well. maybe next time.

I did some lifting today and felt a little sore later in the day. I guess I am still not ready to get into it hard again. I will continue to ease in with different exercises and maybe I can find some that will be OK until I am 100%.

I had the please of finding some amazing movies on youtube using the search public domain movies. There appears to be 100’s of movies from the 1930’s through 50’s or 60’s. I really enjoyed two so far.

I loved the acting and laughed my butt off with how the stories unfolded. Very magical to see and there are many more treasures waiting.

I was pretty tired today and was dragging at work. I am still short on sleep and was feeling it all day. I skipped my PM workout so I could do some more grocery shopping and that was it for me.

Y5W26 Day 6 Old Guard Reunion

AM:
7.4 miles of walking to Fort Myer, Arlington National Cemetery, and then back home. Later we did a booze cruise on the Potomac river then a LATE dinner at Georgia Browns. All this with my Army buddies, the Cooks of the Old Guard. We had less people that planned to be there, but we still had a good group. We had fun all day, reliving memories, and laughing at stories, and Eric brought some old pictures, and Wow we were young and handsome!

PM House cleaning, and more cleaning.

On the Plus side my back was feeling pretty close to normal for moving around, bending and twisting, but not normal enough to get a weight workout in.

Tomorrow is the reunion. I am excited to see the guys, but also feeling like this weekend is going to be filled with boringness and wishing of being out in nature. We have 3 events scheduled for tomorrow, Going to Fort Myer/Arlington Cemetery at noon 5:30 booze cruise on the Potomac, and then Dinner at a blues restaurant at 8:30 at night, YIKES! I am planning to make the dinner, but that is late and well, I might need to be in bed then.

Y5W26 Day 4

AM:
45 min elliptical machine

I took it easy all day. My back is still sore but I am feeling about 60% better. If I feel normal tomorrow I might do a light weight workout (50% of the weight and half the reps) just to get some lifting in, if not I will just do cardio.

Tomorrow night I am meeting with one of my Army buddies, with the rest coming in on Saturday morning. This should be a fun weekend!
