Today was a great weight lifting workout. I was feeling fairly strong and close to a pre-vacation weight lifting routine. My afternoon workouts have increased in time as well and I am feeling good about that too. The warmer weather means the wife is getting ready to jog so I will be riding along with her. She signed up for a 5k race and needs to get her butt in gear to be ready.

Today was a slow Monday. It was OK though. We still had our S-in-L over and our sleeping has been off. She traveled home today so tonight will be a better night of sleep.

Y4W13 Day 7

Today my wife volunteered to be a medic at the Cancer walk here in the city. We got up at 3:30 AM so I could drop her off at the location she needed to be. I got back home at 6 AM and went to sleep. I woke up again at 9:30 AM. I was rocked. I was feeling out of it and off for the day. After lunch I went out for a 25 min 3 mile bike ride and was happy to get back home. My exhaustion caught up to me. I picked up my wife from the metro area and after grocery shopping we finally made it home. She eventually passed out on the couch watching tv while I cooked dinner. I hope we both get a great night of sleep tonight, we need it.

Y4W13 Day 6

Today was a somewhat crazy day. I was up a little early and made it to the gym early. From there I went home and shared a breakfast with Linda and went on my way for some errands. I headed to Walmart for a camping cot. We have air mattresses but I find I sweat a lot on those when I try to use them. Even with sheet covers the plastic underneath still gets me. I figured a canvas cot would be the way to go. Unfortunately the one they did have in stock was not the one the store inventory said was in stock so I did not get it. The cot would also come in handy when we have house guests and we all go to bed at different times so no one gets woken up if some people have work the next day. maybe tomorrow I will check another place.

Today was an OK day. My cat’s breath was bad for part of the day, but surprisingly not while at the Jersey Shore. My S-in-L is visiting a friend and my wife had to work late so I had the house to myself. I was able to relax, watch my show and just have a little peace. I don’t want to make it sound like I don’t enjoy having our Sister-in-Law (S-in-L) visit, but I needed some me time to relax and today I had it. There is a peaceful calm over the house when it is only me and the cats. My wife will be home soon and I will lose my hold of the cats then our S-in-L will arrive later and she will win over the kitties. Oh Well.

A funny think happened today that I had not noticed. If I have approved a person to post a message in the past, any new comments do not show up in my needs approval list I go through every day when I do my blog. Today I saw I had 4 messages from someone called “Mom” that left me messages and I did not even know it. I laughed when I read them. They may have even been some geese!

Today was another day at work. I served my time and was about to leave when my wife called and said she could not find her purse. We had it hiking on Sunday and she was off Monday but did not remember seeing it on Monday. I skipped going to the gym and went straight home. We needed to do some shopping and she needed money. The genius I am I decided to check her car and I found the purse. I am the winner! So I got to go to the gym and she did the shopping. Win win!

Y4W13 Day 1

Today was a rough day. I only had about 4.5 hours of sleep. I tossed and turned and got up to pee a lot so I did not get good rest. I was able to get through the day but have been dragging all the way. I am looking at being in bed between 7 and 7:30 pm tonight so I hope it sorts itself out. I am tired!

I decided I needed to ease into the gym this morning. On the plus side I did not gain a single pound. That was great. I felt pretty good on our hike today also. My wife was feeling sluggish and I was feeling good so we were evenly matched. Tomorrow is back to the grind at work so I will be in bed early tonight.
