I did really good today eating. I have been good all week. Work flowed today and my workouts were solid. This week was a win so far.

Now for the bad: I was late to work today. Our basement was taking on water like the Titanic. I needed to clean the strainer on the drain a few times and I needed to pack towels around the door to try to keep the water flow to a minimum. Tomorrow the trails are all going to be too muddy for hiking so I expect we will be walking the neighborhoods in stead. Sunday our town is having the taste of Arlington festival. there will be 46 different restaurants participating. It should be good!

Today we had some work come in. I took care of it quickly since my coworker is suffering with kidney stones. He sure looks miserable. I have been doing well with cooking multiple meals at once and having them ready for the wife and I to pick and choose what we want for lunch, snacks or dinners. We currently have chicken sausage peppers and onions, filet mignon with mushrooms, ground chicken with black beans and tomatoes as main meals and there are also oven roasted potatoes, red and yellow lentils with barley and onion as side items. All the meals are made to be put over salad for me. Seems like this is a good way to do it. since it is cooked I can eat as soon as I get home if I am feinding for food, or I can take in what ever I want to for snacks or lunches. Plus when I cook, I can eat the meals I want, but don’t tell my wife that…

Y4W15 Day 3

Today was another slow one at work. I made it through and to the gym where I did 60 minutes to make up for the weak bike ride this AM as my wife jogged. She needed to get out there and I was happy to accompany her to enjoy the early morning and to keep her safe. Life is good!

Today was a slow day at work and I was alone today. My partner called in with kidney stones and a trip to the ER. I made it through the day, went grocery shopping, and picked up my wife from the airport! WooHoo she is home!!!!!!

Today was a good day, my exercising went well and work crept by at a snail’s pace. Not everyday is going to be puppies and icecream. It really wasn’t a bad day, it just dragged on. Maybe tomorrow will hold more possibilities.

Y4W14 Day 7

1 hour hike

It was a good one. It was too muddy so I traveled the crushed stone paths as much as possible. My lack of sleep really kicked in on the hike back to the truck. I did not fall asleep until after 1:30 am and the cat woke me up at 5:30am so I was not fully rested to conquer the day. After getting home I did get a 1 hour nap and now I am heading to bed to get more sleep.

So my wife is visiting friends for their daughter’s graduation. I decided this was the perfect time to hit the casino. I did not win. I did not lose all I brought with me, but alas I lost. It was still fun and worth the drive.

Today I made the effort to start eating right again. I had 4 hard boiled egg whites and a Greek yogurt for breakfast, chicken thighs and grain medley, for an afternoon snack I had a can of tuna and cherry tomatoes and for dinner a sweet potato, salmon and a big salad. Today was another grueling day at work. I barely had time to speak with my Uncle and my Parents. Some schedules are just tough. My wife made me a great steak dinner with asparagus and real mashed potatoes. All in all today was a great day. I am a very lucky man.
