Today was a grinder. 2 more emergency jobs came in. The damn engineers scheduled moving equipment without putting in a request for the cabling again! How the heck do you do that? Do you forget to put gas in your car? DO you forget to wash the soap off your body in the shower? How the hell do you forget to ask for cabling for 3 pieces of equipment that you schedule to move from one row/rack to another during the weekend? Really? One of the other emergency rush jobs went as well. My coworker gets it wired to realize the interface has 2 ports not 4. This is the same problem this same guy had last time. Well guess what, you can’t get any ordered and delivered for a Saturday morning cut-over. That God this is a 3 day weekend.

Today I was busy at work! It was OK to be like that but once I was done, I was DONE! I was happy to get home, exercise then relax in front of the TV. TV is a powerful thing. Shows can pump you up, make you sleepy or lift you mood with humor. I like TV.

Today was Voting day in VA. I have my fingers crossed for my guy, but the deck was stacked against him.

Work today was busy so time flew by. Looks like we are going to be busy for a while.

I feel almost 100%. I am still coughing and not 100%, but I am feeling closer and normal. I am hoping this weekend will be a good one for an extended hike and pushing myself.

Y3W40 Day 1

Today was a treat! it was like 40 degrees this AM. We had creamy potato soup for dinner last night and it was working my digestive system hard. I would have done longer than 30 minutes on the elliptical machine but I needed a bathroom break!

Work was good AND SO WAS DINNER. creamed cauliflower, stuffing and chicken. The cauliflower may get me again tomorrow, but I will be ready for it! Plus VOTING!!!!!

a 3 hour neighborhood walk!

We set out today to walk the neighborhoods since I am still not 100% yet, and it was a chance to see the trees turning color as well as some Halloween decorations still up. It was good but we walked a bit too long, or I was wearing the wrong shoes.

Y3W39 Day 6

80 min hike at Donaldson Run

It was a great day today. It was surprisingly warm and we took full advantage of it. I am struggling with ability to exert myself since breathing hard causes me to cough and hack snot. Very slight uphill sections we punishing me today. But I made it through the hike and feel good for doing it. I also worked in the yard today taking down the decorations. I was active most of the day.

here are a few pix from our hike today. I really liked the simplicity of the board benches. We sat on them and were comfortable. And of course my wife just had to play with the pretty leaves.

Today I was better just a little bit more. I still coughed and hacks snot, but not as badly as yesterday. I am over it!

I just noticed that yesterday was my 1,000th post. Pretty cool.I am glad it happened on a special day like Halloween so there were pictures and fun everywhere.

Y3W39 Day 4 HALLOWEEN!

AM:
45 min elliptical machine

I was so glad I was able to work out this AM. I was feeling about 85% normal, and that was great. I was coughing up a lot of phlegm.

At work I was feeling pretty good too. I did have a few times of feeling off but I was not pushing it so I slowed down and took a break if I thought I needed it. Tomorrow should even be better.

Today was Halloween! Time to scare the kids! we had screams, we had laughter from a very young child, we had parents jumping and a few kids crying. We had a couple kids not come into the yard and we had some return for a second and third trip. I love Halloween!

Here is a video from inside the big coffin. Miriam wanted her picture/video taken with the Vampire head. I had a strobe light flashing down on it for a nice scary effect. Miriam with the head is funny, we should have done a voice over of something scary, then her scream.

India decided she wanted to play with the glowsticks that I brought in from our Halloween fun.

Y3W39 Day 3

Today was another sick day. I did go into work but I was sick. I slept slightly better but still woke up sore and with a headache. I had coughing and generally felt like crap. As the day went on I had periods of feeling better, but not many. I was coughing up snot so I am working it out of my system. I expect to go to the gym tomorrow, even if I don’t do a normal workout. I need to get back into it. Tomorrow is Halloween!
