3 hour hike at Skyline Drive, VA!

I took a bunch of pictures. In one of pix we are looking down and off in the distance you can see a parking lot off the main road. We started and ended from there. The trails took us down the mountain some before we had to climb up to the peak so we got to enjoy some elevation changes.

Y3W34 Day 6

AM:
30 min bike

Today I went to the gun show ad walked and walked! There were many cool things to see and I was able to pick up a holster and some other little things too. My wife spent the day with coworkers going to a flea market and hanging out. We missed each other all day but both had a fun filled day. The rest of my time was catching up on True Blood. It is funny, I never read the book series but I do like the show.

Today was a good day at work. The sickness did not kick my butt like it has my coworker. He was down for the count today. I was hacking some snot this AM but in general I felt better today than yesterday. I did have one time of feeling a bit dizzy but I was taking the stairs and going about my business as usual. I think the super chicken soup I made really paid off. Lots of garlic, veggies and brown rice. I had it again for dinner tonight and I expect a solid night of sleep will have me back to normal tomorrow. I hope so!

My coworker gave me the PLAGUE! He is really sick and I am only halfway sick, but when it hits me it hits me. My head feels cloudy and I get a little dizzy and just feel tired and like I have no strength. The feels come and go through out the day and it happens standing and sitting. I made a kick ass chicken and rice soup for dinner that had lots of garlic in it so I am hoping to feel better tomorrow. TGIF! tomorrow.

Y3W34 Day 3

AM:
33 min bike ride as my wife jogged.

It was cold out at 4:30AM! I wore a sweatshirt, a hat and gloves. I needed it. I think I am getting sick. My coworker is under the weather and I was not feeling to good myself. I am off to bed early again in the hopes I can get enough rest to feel good.

Today was an average day. I made a point of taking the stairs each time I needed to go between floors. Nothing major but every little bit helps. I plan to be in bed before 8pm tonight!

Nothing special today. I was feeling tired since I did not get a nap in this weekend. I did sleep in the mornings but it feels like I did not get enough sleep. Maybe tomorrow I can get a nap in after work.

Today we went for a nice bike ride on the C&O canal. We parked near Chain Bridge and pedaled to 495. A while back we saw a cabin in the woods and decided to try to find it. It was an adventure to get there. The trail was not marked, and was difficult to follow but we made it.

We read up about the Island once we got home. It turns out major nature studies have occurred here and can still in the future. The names on the plaques signify the members of the research group that have passed on and had their ashes spread out on the island. Pretty cool place. There were no signs anywhere saying it was private property or that there was no trespassing allowed so we explored the area. We felt privileged to see the site and wondered what may have gone on here over the years.

Today my wife had a work function so I was free for the day. I picked up my mountain bike from the shop and played Borderlands 2 for the rest of the day. I was still playing when she got home, close to 5 pm. What did she want to do when she got home? Play Diablo 3 on the PS3! I got my money’s worth out of the system today.

Today was a busy day filled with running around trying to accomplish one small task. I felt like I was on a scavenger hunt! It took a total of 1 hour to do spread out over my 8 hour work day. I did other stuff to, but this was what had worn me out.
