Today was a crazy day. I woke up at 4:30am and needed to poop. So I got up. after doing my business the cat wanted to hang out and climb on my chest so I stayed up and watched UFC fights that I had recorded. Before I knew it I was heading to the gym and getting a workout in. Not bad to start a day so early, until it becomes later. So now it is 7:20 pm and I am ready for bed. Just another day gone by.

Y3W51 Day 6

1.2 mile walk through the neighborhood in 20 degree weather! BRrrr.

Today was cold with the promise of snow or snow flurries. It was cold enough, but we did not get any. We were robbed. ROBBED I SAY! The rest of the day held a nap for us both and TV shows to catch up on. Today was not the day we hoped or planned for, but it was the day we still found a way to enjoy.

Today was a very busy day. We had a priority job come in and both worked on it all day trying to get it done. Seems every time they have this big important job to do they do not consider us and the time it takes us to complete what is needed before demanding they need it NOW!!!!! Oh well, we do what we can.

I was feel like making something good for dinner tonight so I baked some sweet potatoes, oven roasted asparagus and cooked some BBQ chicken thighs. Dinner rocked!

I mashed up my sweet potato on the plate with some brown sugar and fake butter. I need to make sweet potatoes more often.

Today was a snow day. The Fed shut down because it was going to snow. We have about 4 inches. It is still coming down and I suspect I will be off again tomorrow. No work no pay. Bummer.

Today was a holiday but I had to work. No big deal since it was an easy day. I did my work and enjoyed the quiet throughout the buildings. The down side was the lunch room was closed so no morning tea or lunch in the building. no big deal. I packed some things and went to the 7-11 on the corner so all was good.

Today was a better day to be out hiking. It was warmer by a few degrees and it was not windy. The not windy part was a big deal. It was a good day to enjoy the views. Since there are no leaves on the trees you can see places you can’t during the summer.

Today had it all. Gym time, hiking in the cold, TV time, even a nap. Today was my cousin’s birthday. We called him and wished him a happy one. The party was lively, and he was outside at the fire ring enjoying the company of family. Happy 50th Cuz!

Work today. What can I say. My coworker is still having insurance issues and has not received his check so he still can’t buy a replacement car. I cringe as he tells me his plans on buying a nice high mileage car at a higher price than what the insurance check will be. He struggles weekly with expenses and if the car he gets needs repairs shortly down the road he will not have the money to fix it. His life, his money, but it is hard to heard him complain about being broke all the time when he does some not so smart things with his money.

My lab results are back and my Doc called to tell me ALL my numbers are good except my vitamin D level. I bet she was shocked. I could tell when talking to her she was doubting I eat healthy(ish) and exercise regularly. At my initial check up she recommended a recumbent exercise bike to help me lose weight. I laughed and said I don’t sweat using a bike like that, and I prefer the stair climber machine or going on 2 hour hikes. Oh well. I have a follow up in a few weeks and I can’t wait to see how it goes.

On a down side my friend Michelle is in a tough place. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in her pancreas. She is planning treatment and looking at options. My heart goes out to her, her husband and their children.
