So with my wife high on life from her 10 mile run she decided now is the time to sign up for a half marathon. Being the guy I am I decided I will run it too. The run is in September so I have plenty of time getting ready, but I will never catch my wife now! This commitment also means our summer is now on a predestined course. We will need to run each week and have a long run each weekend. This is going to be tough.

DINNER:
Filet Mignon, stir-fry veggies and Israeli Couscous.

Y3W11 Day 7

AM:

bike ride (a few blocks) to see my wife cross the finish line of her 10 mile race!

My wife was amazing today (as always). She averaged 9:15 per mile for 10 miles! She was almost a minute faster per mile from the last time we did the Army ten miler.

Today was family fun day with us all getting together. It was cool since our Niece was in town and brought her boyfriend. Our brother hosted us all and it was great!

Today was an easy but busy day at work. It was OK with me. Also today was filled with Boston updates. They are close to getting the second guy, he is in a boat in the back yard right now.

Y3W11 Day 4

AM:
4 mile jog with my wife!

PM:
none, my ankle was sore.

The run was good but I was slow and not feeling into it after the first two miles. I chose the course and wanted to push myself and I did. I am glad I did what I did. I hope tomorrow to not feel sore in the ankle. WOOHOO I ran 4 miles today!

Today was an OK day. There was a lot of speculation from yesterday’s bombing and the news played clips over and over so the mood of the day was a mix of anger and feeling bad for all who were injured. The world is crazy sometimes, the best you can do is pay attention to your surroundings, and be ready for the unexpected. Do not live in fear, but be vigilant.

My back was sore and I took something for it and I was knocked out! I got home and fell asleep on the couch! No PM workout for me today.

90 minute bike ride while my wife jogged.

PM:

1 hour hike along the Potomac river to see the Virginia Blue Bells.

 

What a busy day. Besides all of this we needed to do more cleaning.  At least we did have fun.

Y3W10 Day 6

Today was a off kind of day. I slept in until 8:20 am! for exercise today we drove down to the Pentagon and then pedaled our bikes over into DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. We missed the peak. The peak happened on Wed or Thursday and with the rain and wind on Friday the blossoms suffered. We took some pix but it is not the same missing the peak.

Once home we had some lunch then some naps. After the naps we cleaned the house. We have family coming in to stay with us soon so it was time to clean. We did good but have more to do. Tomorrow will be an active outdoor day also so it will be interesting to see how much cleaning actually gets done.
