AM:
38:20 3 mile jog on the treadmill

This morning was one of those take a risk if you want to mornings. There was a 60% chance of rain with thunderstorms. I wanted to run outside. It was dark out (but it always is at 4:25 in the morning). I was considering adding a mile to my course just to really torture myself. Knowing I would be gone longer I went back into the house to use the bathroom one more time. So I head back out and as I am setting up my jog tracker app I feel some rain! So off the the gym for me.

Today was another busy day. Not the crazy day that has been repeating day after day, but still busy enough. That is OK, I don’t mind. Tomorrow morning looks like it will be rainy which means I will not be jogging outside. I hope if I am in the gym tomorrow because of weather I can get three miles in on the treadmill before I move on to another cardio machine.

AM:
We jogged together today!

I was a minute faster on my time and happy to be out there with my honey. I hope to be out there 3 or 4 times a week so I can get some speed back and work on my distances again. I am hopelessly behind my wife’s level but I should be able to close the gap some.

Y3W10 Day 2

AM:
I went for a nice jog this morning. I did the 3 mile loop and was slightly faster than last time. I never felt great during it but was happy to do it again.

After work I went shopping for groceries and then cooked dinner so I did not workout again like I hoped to. It got hot today, like mid 80’s hot. Tomorrow is going to be hotter. My wife will be in class late tomorrow so I mentioned I was going to turn on the air conditioner tomorrow morning so I could come home to a cool house. She flipped. She is going to be at work until about 10 pm in a climate controlled environment but got pissed at me for wanting to come home to a comfortable house while the temperatures are going to be in the high 80’s with higher humidity. Anyone that knows me knows I sometimes make funny faces. I have Parrot eye, scary stare, confused look, and a few others. Well I was giving her the you are crazy look and she flipped out mad. Something about mocking her and it pissed her off. Yep I am doing great this evening. I shopped, cooked and cleaned some of the house since we have family coming in and I made a face that pissed her off. The whole rest of the evening is going…to…be …interesting. And any family reading this, lets not discuss this with my better half. I needed to vent about the situation, not looking for there to be blowover into tomorrow. Besides she never reads this site.

UPDATE! the amazing has happened! it is currently now 78 degrees and has cooled off some. My better half went upstairs to the bedroom to get laundry and found out (SURPRISE!) it is usually about 10 degrees hotter up there in the bedroom and asked me to turn on the air conditioning TONIGHT! WOOHOO all is right in the world.

Y3W9 Day 7 Cherry Blossoms

AM:
Today we decided to walk from the Pentagon to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms. We were disappointed! Only a couple trees were blooming and they were not at peak bloom. It looked like over 90% of the trees were still green buds waiting to bloom. We will try again this coming weekend and see what we can see.

We walked over 4 miles but did not feel like we got what we wanted so we headed to Turkey Run park for some hiking.

Y3W9 Day 6

AM:
3 mile jog in 40 minutes. Damn it was tough, but I did it.

Later AM:
2 hour 11 mile bike ride while my wife jogged this distance!

I felt great to do what I did. I feel proud my wife jogged what she did. She is amazing.

Today was a very physical day at work. I had plenty of up and down on the floor, reaching about my head on my tippy toes and up and down the ladder. I was removing old cabling and it worked me.

Another day of feeling just about normal. I considered trying to jog outside today until I saw the frost on my neighbor’s car and checked the news. Yep, below freezing. So it was off to the gym. I was active today at work and skipped going to the gym in favor of the bike at home so I could catch up with some TV shows. Pretty soon it is going to be warm every morning and I will be getting out there jogging with the wife so I got to get started now.

Y3W9 Day 3

AM:

Today was a quick one in the gym, I needed to work offsite and needed to be ready and out of the house 30 minutes early, so the workout was cut short. I did a bunch of standing, reaching, bending, and twisting at work. Enough that I was sore by the time I got home. The jogging was OK but my back was a bit sore and I did not want to push it knowing my work day was going to be fun. I wanted to jog outside this AM but the temps were in the 30’s and I was just not willing to do that after having some daytime temps in the 50’s and 60’s. Pretty soon I will be getting back out there, but the scary thing is my wife is ready for the 10 mile distances and I will be struggling with the 3 mile distances.
