I pedaled to and from work today. It was a great day and I enjoyed the ride.

Today was a desk day with some going into the data center. Activity was low and I was snaking which was OK since today is a regular eating day. Tomorrow is a low calorie day so I am hoping to be busier.

Y3W29 Day 1

Today was the first workday diet/fasting day. I survived. I was hungry at my desk today but I thought ahead and had a bag of carrots with me. When I was busy I never thought of food or hunger. When I was sitting for a few hours I noticed I was ready for lunch but it was not even 10:00 AM yet. Dinner tonight was BBQ chicken breast over salad with balsamic vinegar. I did cut up 2 large strawberries for my salad. I ended the day at 1,656 calories for the day. I was 56 over my goal. Tomorrow is a regular day so I will not be counting or worrying. I am looking forward to seeing the results after 2 weeks.

Today was a regular eating day. I felt normal despite eating lite yesterday. I am looking forward to the diet day tomorrow. It will be cool to get a few days under my belt and see if my thinking is sound.

The rain today really kept us home bound. It was disappointing to have that happen but I made the most of it by taking a nap.

Y3W28 Day 6

AM:

1.5 hour hike at gulf branch run.

Today was a full day. We both had our vehicles serviced, I had a motor cycle inspected, and we had some good activities twice today.

I am also trying something new with my eating. I have lost my way and have not been able to get back into the groove but I think I have found a way and today was successful. I am going to diet every other day. I started today and kept my calories under 1,500. Tomorrow I will go back to doing what I was doing, and then the next day back to keeping my calories low. On diet days my goal is to eat between 1,200 to 1,600 calories. My regular day I will just keep doing what I was doing. No counting of calories, no guilt. This is something I believe can be sustainable in the long run. I only need to be good every other day. This may not be a huge help, but it will help. I should be good for dropping 2 to 5 pounds a month. Mentally I think this will be easy since I only need to delay eating something I may really want to eat but is bad by 24 hours. I will still enjoy my pasta, some ice cream, some chips, but it will reduce the amount of crap I have been eating by a substantial amount. I looked it up and there are some diet plans out there already with this idea so it is not something new. I can not do any worse than I have been doing.

Today on our hike we saw some woodpeckers and a chipmunk, but the star of the show was a baby black snake with a yellow ring around the head. We have never, ever seen anything like this.

Y3W28 Day 5

AM:

Today was an amazing day of work. I had periods of time rushing to get something completed only to then have standby time eventually going back to rushing around like mad. I got it done so that is all that matters.

I want to send out a special thanks to my mom for working with tech support to get the computer working. It saved me a drive this weekend or hassles on the coming holiday weekend later this month. I hope this part conveys properly, this is no way a dig at her but a dig at my own inability to be patient and cool headed when dealing with technology and others. A few years back I self studied, tested and passed the CompTIA A+ technician certification. That is an entry level certification to get me qualified for working at a call center or help desk. A few years back I was considering transitioning to a helpdesk career track because I believed it would have more opportunity for employment. I am smart enough and could do the job, but never was able to transition over when I was at Walter Reed. The situation did not present itself and I tried to force it and was not able to. Today I provided 1 hour of long distance tech support and thank GOD!!! I did not change career fields. I do not have the patience to do that job 40+ hours a week. I couldn’t make it beyond an hour today. Again this is my shortcoming I am picking on no one else’s. I am glad I am a Cable guy and work behind the scenes. Life is good!

Today was another great day for adventure. Work was steady but exciting. I feel bad for some folks there, a contract did not go the way many were hoping and a new group will be coming in. I am glad I am not part of that group.

Today I noticed something special going on in the kitchen. I think it can cure some illnesses! or get us drunk! or make us sick!

Today was another day of some work and some desk time. I found out there may be an issue with a task I did offsite. I believe I did it right, but something is not working. I hope to find out tomorrow it was not me. I might need to go out there for 5 minutes of work if I need to correct something.

Today was a better day than yesterday but I was still tired. I am feeling better now that it is getting closer to bed time. Tomorrow is a run day for my wife. I am looking forward to getting out there with her even though I will be on a bike. There is something magical about that time of the mornings.

I was so tired today! I got up at 3:07 am and could not fall back asleep. I had a good workout and rode my scooter into work. The day was looking bright! Problem was I was so tired. I missed out on rest this weekend and I was hurting all day. My co-worker looked at me and said he never saw me looking so tired and asked if I was going to make it all day at work. I did but it was not easy. It is almost 7 PM and I hope to be in bed soon.

Today was a travel day home. There was no exercise at all other than loading and unloading the truck. I even took a 1 hour nap once I got home. Since I did not post the pix from our Appalachian trail hike near Port Clinton PA I am posting then today, but the hike was from yesterday.
