32 min bike ride while my wife jogged.

My wife is amazing. She is getting her running speed back quickly. today she averaged under 11 minute miles for her 3 mile run. I think she will be ready for the 13.1 mile race later this year!

Y3W26 Day 2

AM:
20 min walking at incline on the treadmill
30 min elliptical machine

What a crazy day Off-site today. I had a lot to do and I screwed myself by not remembering my preprinted labels for the large job. I ended up using a handheld label maker machine and it took me forever doing it that way. I was able to get it all done but it drove me crazy in the process. Today was also the first time in a long time that there were engineers working in the cage at the same time. I am used to being in there all by myself. rocking out with headphones in and music cranking. I still could have, but I tend to sing out loud while working like that and I did not want to be “That (annoying) Guy”. I got home and sat back on the couch and the next thing I knew I was stretching out and I would have caught a nap it it wasn’t for those meddling cats. Pandora decided she should climb all over me then continuously reposition herself and try to coax me to pet her. She won.

Nada, zip, zero, nothing. I suck.

Today was a semi-busy day at work there was plenty to do and we did it. I had enough time to prep for tomorrow’s off-site projects. I hope it will be a good day out there, but you never know. Expect the worst but hope for the best. My knee is almost back to normal since Friday’s 1 mile jog.

Y3W25 Day 7

AM:
70 min bike ride while my wife jogged!

Bonus AM:

33 min walk through Luber Run Park.

It was good to sleep in today. We both needed it. It was also great the weather was cool and not rainy. My knee was acting up still from the 1 mile jog I did on Friday, so a real hike today was out of the realm of possibilities. I enjoyed some UFC fights that I recorded yesterday (Thanks Bro!) and even had some time for Borderlands 2. It was a great day though not the one I was expecting to have.

Y3W25 Day 6

PM:
Trip to the range! WooHoo! Target shooting! Today was a guys day out. My wife had plans with her work friends and So I made plans to go to the range to do some target shooting. It has been a while and I was itching to go. Me and my neighbor headed to the NRA range and enjoyed shooting a few different pistols. (My Bro-in-law was not feeling good and did not join us). We got there at a good time and did not have to wait for a lane. I am so glad I live in a state that is 2nd amendment friendly (unlike the state I grew up in). More people would enjoy this kind of activity if they only tried it out a couple times.

Bonus AM/PM:
I pedaled in and home from work today.

So today before I headed into the gym I thought back and realized I have not seriously jogged since May 7th of this year. That is almost 3 months. That is the longest I have gone without jogging in over 10 years. So today I decided to go easy and jog a mile on the treadmill. I did fine and did not have any pain. I did a good weight and cardio mix plus I pedaled into work today as a bonus. My knee felt weird but not painful so I thought I was good. Turns out sitting at my desk was not good for me. When I got up from sitting my knee was hurting some. Not a lot, but enough to know this problem is here to stay for a while. Jogging is so enjoyable for me and it is tough losing it but I still can enjoy hiking and biking without pain as long as I do not run. My wife is pushing me to see a doctor about it because she thinks there will be a non surgery option, but I just don’t believe that at all. Time will tell.

Today we had the pleasure of a Sales Rep take us out to lunch. On the walk there we saw a really cool military style truck. It made my day.

Today was a crazy day at work! We had all kinds of requests coming at us. As an added bonus I have more work in Manassas ( I am sarcastically excited about it) This weekend looks like a trip to the range. That is always something fun.

Y3W25 Day 2

AM:
45 min stair climber machine

That machine is brutal! I sweat on it like when I was jogging! I have been doing 25 minutes on the machine but today I really wanted to push it so I did 45 minutes straight. It destroyed me. I was soaked with sweat and feeling it all day. I was tired from all the sweat that I lost. I drank plenty of water but it did not matter, I was beat!

I did grocery shopping after work and spent the next hour cooking tonight’s and tomorrow’s meals. During that time the cats were having a ball running around and playing with the empty roll from the toilet paper, a ball with a bell in it and a paper bag. They played more today than I have ever seen them play before. It was cool.

Y3W25 Day 1

Today was an off-site work day. I had 3 tasks to complete and was able to finish early enough to enjoy a lunch before returning to work. Some days out there I don’t get to eat a lunch at all. I hope to be up early before my alarm so I can get into the gym a few minutes early tomorrow. It has been crazy hot here. Even when the temperature is not 90 and above the humidity has been really high and keeping us uncomfortable for the season.
