What a day, it was filled with fun and adventure!
Today was weird bug day while hiking. Seems each day now has a theme!

Y3W24 Day 6

AM:
45 min bike ride while my wife jogged
4 rounds of 7 reps dumbbell routine

AM #2:

70 min hike at the Winkler preserve

PM:
Helped our neighbor weed his family’s 2 community garden plots for over an hour in the heat!

Today was a great blend of exercising, hiking for fun (and exercising) and helping a neighbor out (exercising) with the added bonus of playing 2 sessions of Borderlands on the PS3. What a day!

Y3W24 Day 5

AM:

Work, work, and some more work!

PM:
30 minutes on the bike.

Darn was it hot today. I mean really hot. This weekend is going to be taxing. We will be hiking but the heat will get us. My wife wants to go jogging at sun up So I will need to get up early to do that then decide if I am going to the gym or not. From there we will need to head out to hike.

34 min bike ride while my wife jogged

PM:
25 min bike

Today was the second time my wife jogged since being cleared to run. She pushed it more than she meant to and did 3 miles in 34 minutes. She averaged around 11:30 per mile. Thar was a minute per mile faster than the other day. She was completely spent after that. She sat down on our steps and was feeling like she might get sick. You know you pushed it if you feel sick. She did not even want to do the walk up the street to cool down, she was done. She did it though and that is all that matters.

Today was another crazy, busy day. My co-worker is back so things are easier but it was still crazy. On the plus side I rode my dirtbike again and that makes me smile all the way home. Life is good. Sometimes it is the little mundane things that make a difference.

The day was long and it was good to get out. The day got better once I made it to the parking lot!

There is something special about riding to and from work. I do not get that same good feeling hopping in my car and driving.

Dinner was salmon, mac and cheese and spinach. It looked great but fell short on tast. the wild salmon sux and the velvita cheese is not tasty the way the other mac and cheese varieties are. Oh well it was a meal.

Y3W24 Day 1

AM:

45 min walking at incline on the treadmill.

Today I was solo at work with my buddy on vacation. I was working evenly paced but was busy all day. I somehow managed to hurt my ankle, it feels like I twisted it but I did not. Weird. On the plus side my wife has been cleared to exercise and not wear the sling so she was so excited she went for a 3 mile jog today! you go bunny!

Today was a fun one but it was way too hot. It wasn’t the temperates so much as it was the humidity. It was at 90%! My legs still felt sore from yesterday’s walk so I was happy we did not do more.

Y3W23 Day 6

AM:
3 hour 15 minute walk around towns today. We walked down past the Air Force memorial and into Pentagon City for some lunch. We then walked through Crystal city and on to Shirlington to pick up my wife’s vehicle from the service center. It was hot out and my knees and ankles were sore before we were done walking but I still totally enjoyed the urban hiking we did today. We did get a later start today since I needed to get my scooter inspected and she needed to get the oil changed in her SUV.

We got home, watched a tv show then I took a nap for 75 minutes. My alarm woke me, I turned it off, then fell back asleep for another 45 minutes! Insane! I feel ready to sleep for the night now. I bet tomorrow I wake up early and feel refreshed.

Y3W23 Day 5

AM:
45 min elliptical machine

We had a wonderful night of storms last night. the lightning was waking me up as it flashed in the room. I was up early but did not rest well. I was slow going the gym and needed to park in the underground lot since it was raining pretty hard. I lost some time there and was sore from doing weights all week so i just did cardio. Work today was busy and my soreness stuck around most of the day. The best part of the day was getting home. Now the best part of the night is going to bed, GOOD NIGHT!
