Y2W23 Day 4

Today, I bonked.  It has been a while since I had such an off day that I could not go through the motions and get through my planned workout.  Today was that day.  My wife and I were due for our 5+ mile jog today.  Today I was poop moose in the morning.  I was up an extra 12 minutes early and in the bathroom doing my thing.  While in there I had what could be described as an allergy attach.  My nose was congested with plenty of snot dripping.  My breathing was off from having to breath through my mouth only.  I got my act together and was ready to hit the streets.  On the way out I was struggling trying to breathe right for the easy pace we were doing.  Not 3 blocks from the house and I felt like I needed another bathroom break.  This usually happens way later in the runs, usually when we are almost home.  I knew right there I was not going to make 5 miles today.  I mention it to my wonderful wife and she too was bonking.  We first said 3 miles, then a half block later 2 miles, then barely a mile in I new I needed to get home to hit the bathroom.  Today we only did 1.5 miles.  Once done in the bathroom I headed to the gym.

Now for the good part!  I started with a squat machine and did 5 sets of squats, then 4 sets of overhead dumbbell presses, dead lifts, standing curls and an exercise I do not know the name of.  It rocked!

I then worked my day and was heading to the gym for more cardio before I knew it.  I did 20 minutes of the elliptical stepper machine and 10 minutes on the bike.  My knee felt really bad on the bike so I only did 10 minutes.  Tomorrow is going to be the make up run day so I better be feeling better!

I made a lighter dinner tonight which was chicken breast over salad.  I think some of my problem yesterday was the carbs of the Bulgar wheat I cooked and overly enjoyed.  I hope tomorrow will be better.
