Week 35 Day 6

HIKING and MMA FIGHTS!

What a day, what a day!  I skipped the gym this morning and my wife and I went on a 3 hour hike along the Potomac river.  The weather was perfect.  It was in the mid 60’2 to low 70’s for our three hours.  We saw more crickets than ever before, a chipmunk, fish, a blue tailed lizard and a duck.  Of course other people hiking and some with dogs.  It was a perfect day to be out and about.  On the way out we both got fatigued and cut the distance short from our goal.  On the way back we made up for it by jogging small sections.  We were 10 minutes faster coming back than heading out so the jogging distance had to be about 3/4 of a mile.

I was not able to go to the gym in the afternoon because my buddy had an extra ticket for MMA fights in Baltimore.  WOOHOO!  cage fights!

I don’t think the ring girls were tested for performance enhancing body parts, LOL!

The fights were cool to see. There were a couple stand outs for being very skilled and there was one guy from West Virginia that based on appearances should not have been in the same area fighting at 195lbs.  He did not win but went the full 3 five minute rounds and even cut up his opponent a bit.  His opponent was a local guy and he was chisseled steel in appearance but could not propperly ground and pound the West Virginia guy.  You really can’t judge a book by its cover.

Today was cheat day for my diet.  I was good until the fight where I had 2 hot dogs, a soft pretzel and a Miller Lite.  Once I got home at 12:45 I stopped a Wendy’s and got a single cheese burger meal with lemonade.  I was fiending for food and took the easy way out.  First time in a long time that I got fast food like that.   I don’t feel too bad as it was a cheat night.  I bet I go another many months before I do it again.  Have a great night,  I sure did!
