Today was a pretty good day. It had a chance to be epic but I blew it on the eating by trying having biscuits and gravy at work as a second breakfast instead of fruit with yogurt as a snack. I added way more calories and fat than I needed to, but I had to try it. I really like to treat myself to biscuits and gravy every month or so and I could not believe it when I saw it. I tried it and liked it. It was not my favorite or best I have ever eaten, but it was good. I will get it again if the mood ever hits me at work.
As for the epic part, well the day flowed well, I got to enjoy a bike ride to and from work and I did a garage weight lifting workout. I did squats today which is something I have not done in a while. Lately at the gym I have been doing leg presses and hack squats using the machines. Since I tweaked my knee trail running a while back I have not been able to leg press near my 810lb max. Mostly I have been lifting 450lb or if I am feeling really good 540lbs. The squats I did today were tough. My knees were not liking the pressure and bending so I tricked them some. I did a set with weight, then I did a set of 10 body weight only, then a heavier set of weight, then back to body weight. This worked better for me and my knees loosened up and felt OK. My leg muscles on the other hand, well I overdid it! I might have pulled or strained a muscle. I was feeling a tightness in my inner thigh leg muscle. Enough so that I was limping some. I took some Advil and now that I have been sitting for a couple hours I feel better. I hope I did not really over do it and not be able to exercise in the morning. Well no pain no gain.
