Week 25 Day 1

Had I stayed on track for losing 4 pounds a week I would be in my last two weeks.  But alas that is not the case and I will have another 6 or more weeks to make my 100 pound goal.   I know I will get there, eventually.

Today was a warm morning with a nice 3 mile jog, me following my wife through the neighborhoods.  She kicked my butt  the whole way except for the last push on our block back to our house.  I had just enough saved in me to pass her and she was not able to get back the lead.  I think she may have let me win but she insisted that is not the case.

Work today was slow paced and the day felt like it crawled by.  Once I got home I took a break for half an hour then headed to the gym.  Today was a lifting day.  I wanted to push heavier today to see where I am at.  I have lost strength from dropping 80 pounds but I am not feeling weak.  Here is what I did:

Bench press
135-10
185-3
225-1
185-6,5,5
135-12

assisted pull-ups
+85-3
+55-1
+70-3
+85-3
+100-5
+115-6
+130-7

Leg press
180-15
270-15
360-15
450-15

Dumbbell dead lift
60-8
70-8
80-5,5

That did it for me. I was glad to see I can still press 225lbs. I also have a new record for the assisted pull-ups, I can now do one repetition with 55 lbs assistance. My previous best was with 70 lbs assistance. My grip was shot by the time I made it to the dead lifts. The 80 lb dumbbells were not too heavy but I could not keep a good grip and was not feeling good about going heavier like in the past.

My food consumption was good today. I ate 2,168 calories.Dinner was the best meal of the day. I made my own chicken haleem, eggplant with fire roasted tomatoes and spinach.

I was smarter this time,  I did not make rice to go with it.  I did not need the extra carbs.  I have been eating a lot of fruit and have been carb heavy because of it.  All in all today was a good day and I am looking forward to tomorrow to see if I can do better.
