Week 23 Day 6

So it is Saturday and I got to sleep in.  Boy did it feel good to do that.  Even with sleeping in I was at the gym by 8:30 am and stepping on the scale.

I am a little bit more down.  I like seeing the scale move.  This had me pumped up and I decided to jog 4 miles this morning.  I did it in under 44 minutes.  That is good.  I am slowly getting faster again.  I hope to see myself doing 6 miles in an hour.  I used to be able to do that.  I think I will be able to do that again.  So after my treadmill time I decided to do 20 minutes on the elliptical machine.  That kept my heart rate up and my breathing stressed.  Not a bad workout.

Today was family fun day.  My wife, her brother and myself went kayaking in the Potomac river.  We were out for 1 hour and 10 minutes.  We all had a good time and took turns racing ahead or exploring little rock outcroppings.  We all felt like we got some decent exercise out of the excursion and had fun.

Afterwards we headed home for some rest then it was dinner time before we knew it.  We went out and picked up some middle eastern chicken haleem and different veggie dishes.  We brought that home and I cooked up some chicken cut into cubes and had it with a salad.  I mixed up some peanut butter sauce, honey mustard sauce and also set out some bbq sauce for the chicken cubes.  We ate very well and even had a little bit left over.  It was a great day to share with family!
