AM:
30 min exercise bike

PM:
I finished building the coffin! I worked hard bending, reaching, lifting, cutting and painting the darn thing. It looks great!

I also helped the neighbor pick up a refrigerator and get it into his basement. Lifting!

Today was good I finished what I set out to do. I think it looks good.

These are not all the decorations that we will put out but it was getting windy so we decised to hold back.

Block party and mini golf tournament!  Good food drinks and no exercise!

 

 

I did work on my coffin for a while today, I have the exterior stained black.  I will need to get some black paint for the inside as well as do some additional framing for support.  It is coming along nicely though!

Y2W36 Day 5

RUN DAY!

It was a cold (in the 40’s) and I was not feeling fast today.  We did our run and averaged 4.9 mph.  Not great but we got it done.

What a long week. I worked on my Halloween coffin some more today. Everything about it is taking more time than I expected. I have been having to re-design it on the go. I hope to finish construction tomorrow and stain the wood on Sunday.

Y2W36 Day 4

I was so tired today when I got home.  I mean lay on the couch and almost fall asleep tired.   Tomorrow is a run day. We have 3 runs left before the event!  We can’t wait.   This weekend is the block party on our street.  Every year we all get together and hold a mini golf, dinner and movie night.  It is fun and a great time to meet the neighbors.   This year is tough since I really can’t drink much with the run the following weekend, I don’t want to hurt my breathing or get my muscles full of toxins.  Oh well there will be time after the run for a beer or drink.

45 min building a plywood coffin for Halloween!

Here is a picture of our part time kitty, “Tiger Stripe”That is not the name his owners gave him, but that is what we call him.  He comes over on run days for some petting and on days I go to the gym in the mornings I give him some feed.

He is a sweetie and our buddy!   Daisy is not impressed when we come in after petting him.  She moans and carries on letting us know she is not impressed!

Also here is a picture of my crazy wife.  This is before we headed out on our 10.5 mile jog on Monday.

Y2W36 Day 1

My wife took the day off today and I had the day off.  We made some big plans.  We went out for an epic jog this morning.  We jogged 10.5 miles.   My wife needed to do it to give her the piece of mind that she could.  I knew she could and that I could to.  My problem to day was that my knee was sore before we started.  As we walked to the starting point she asked me if I was limping.  Me? Limping, yes, yes I am.  No problem, we did it.  I was hurting most of the way.  It was in the 40’s and I was sore before we started.  I did it though.  Not as easily as my wife.  I was struggling from 7 miles on.  I did it though.  I did the ten miles better this time than last time.  It felt so good to stop running.

We did not get home and have breakfast until 12:45! That was insane. So we showered and headed out to Taste of DC. It is a fun time. They block off multiple streets and have food venders, drinks, free samples of products, and live music and other entertainment. We had fun. While there we needed to use the porta-potty so I walk up to one that was showing green so I knock on the door then open it, a lady freaks out and pulls the door closed. My wife and I laughed so hard. Duh when you latch the door it shows red and that it is occupied. PLUS if you answer when someone knocks they will not open the door. Lady you double failed!

The Taste of DC was cool. For 10 dollars each we received vouchers for a free $6 dollar beer. Add to that free reusable shopping bags, free tastes of wine, and other free samples (plus live music!) it was worth it. In the end we walked another 3.5 miles. WOW! What a day.

Y2W35 Day 7

Borderlands 2 ruled the day.  I played it early, mid day and into the night.  I did make it to the gym in the morning for 45 minutes of the stair stepping machine.  It kicked my butt.  It rained all day so that put a damper on things.  We did go to Home Depot to pick up some supplies to make a coffin for Halloween.  Maybe tomorrow I will be able to build it if the weather allows.

Y2W35 Day 5

Run Day!

So we had a good run today!

My afternoon workout was not what I planned but I enjoyed it anyway.  I was going to do some lifting and started with that.  I did some body weight squats and curls but then decided I wanted to spend some time hitting the heavy bag.  I did some left right lefts and some rights, lefts, rights.  I broke a great sweat.  It was fun and it is more than an hour later and I feel it!

I am exhausted.  I almost fell asleep when I got home.  I lost motivation to exercise in the afternoon so it was good I did the heavy bag because that cranked me up some.  But here it is 8pm and I am ready for bed as soon as I finish tracking foods.
