Skipped it. My legs were shot from all the leg presses, I did too much too soon.

I felt pretty normal all day. My legs felt strong during the leg presses though my knees did not feel quite right. I did break a sweat while lifting and got some cardio in as well so today was OK. I hope tomorrow can be a 2 a day workout day for me.

Y2W38 Day 2

AM:

16 min neighborhood bike ride

Both of us are still feeling the effects of the run. We have sore muscles and joints. Nothing injury-like but more than our normal sore. We are taking the week off from running and will do other workouts for this recovery week. It is good to take a break every now and then.

Y2W38 Day 1

Day off!

AM:

skipped workout and slept in,  I was sore from the run yesterday.

PM:

25 min on the bike

 

Today was a restful day.  I fell asleep on the couch watching TV around lunch time.  I guess I really needed a nap.  I did do the bike for some exercise today but otherwise I did not do a darn thing other than Borderlands 2  and watching TV.  Tomorrow is back to the grind.

Y2W37 Day 7 The Army Ten Miler!

The Army Ten Miler!

AM:
We did it! we finished the Army Ten Miler. My wife is amazing, She is 45 years old and this was her first long distance running event. She posted a faster time then I did when I was 31 years old and ran it! I am so proud of her. I am proud of myself too because I took more than 15 minutes off my time from the 2 practice 10 mile runs we did. Amazing! I of course was not as fast as I had been when I was 30, but I met my goal of not being last and I met the goal! I did OK and finished 1819 out of 2042 men aged 40 to 44 years old. I finished 17,960 out of 21,912 race finishers. There were 30,000 people registered for this event. I don’t have any way of knowing how many started and did not finish, or how many did not show up at all but 21,912 did complete the run today. That is a lot of folks.

All the training, and hard work paid off.  We are both glad to have done it and are glad we can go back to jogging sharted distances in the future!  Miriam crashed pretty hard after we had lunch.  She fell asleep on the couch watching TV then fell asleep againg after dinner while we watched some more TV.

Dinner tonight was a meatloaf (filled with pepper, onion and mushrooms), mashed red potatoes and asparagus.  Comfort ffod for sure.

Y2W37 Day 6

1+ mile walk at Army ten miler expo

We picked up our race numbers and shirts for the event tomorrow.  My wonderful wife wanted us to take a picture together, it looks like one of those sorry security pictures where you are guessing if you can tell any features of the people in it.

The Army had the Fife anf Drum corpe there playing some tunes.

Today was a good day. It was easy at work and I made it home before the rains poured down. Life is good. We will be picking up our race packets tomorrow and then do some walking but taking it easy most of the day as well.

Y2W37 Day 2

 

I pedaled to and from work today after the run.  It was nice.  The weather was right at the edge of being cold or comfortable.  I had my sweatshirt on and felt good.    Work was OK and I can’t stop thinking about the ten mile run.  I am so ready for it to be here and done!

rested. I never napped and rested this weekend. I was already tired for the week! I had a strange dream last night. My wife and I with 2 others were taking a Mono-rail trip and when I got up to the counter I was helped by William Shatner. He was pretty cool. We talked Startrek, Tekwars and such. He was a really cool dude, but it was a dream. Too bad my alarm woke me, I wonder what other strangemenss would have ensued.

When I got home today I was greeted by a big spider. I took a picture to since it is Halloween-ish.

He was not Turancula big, but he was about 3 times the size of an average spider.
