Time for some weight lifting!

AM:

20 minutes elliptical machine

PM:
4 sets overhead presses with 35 lb dumbbells
4 sets body weight squats
4 ses alternating arm curls 35 lbs
3 sets of 15 push-ups

Not to bad of a day. Work was OK but the area was not. There was an armed robbery a few blocks from work on a very busy street at 2:30 PM ! Rediculous!

I decided to change things up again with my exercising. I am going to weight lift at home 4 days a week and will still weight lift in the mornings once or twice a week to get in the exercises I can’t do at home. My running days will stay the same and I will make a point to get in some cardio on my lifting mornings and other mornings will be all cardio. My muscles are already feeling the burn.

Y2W35 Day 3

We got our run in today!

It was looking pretty bad out this AM.  It was misty/foggy/hazy out but it was not raining so we ran.   It was warm out to with it being almost 70 degrees at 4:15 AM.  I liked that but my wife wished it was colder out.  We did out normal route of 5.7 miles and averaged 12 minute miles.  That is going to be my pace for the run.  My wife will be faster by a minute per mile or more.

Work flew by and I was home exercising before I knew it.  I did body weight squats and dumbbell shoulder presses as I watched some TV.  I like exercising at home but I need to work on my intensity.  I do fine in the garage but lose my focus in the house.  Since I ran this AM I was looking to take it easier on my body so the living room  was perfect for what I was looking for.

Y2W35 Day 2

The rain!

This morning the weather was bad so we had planned to skip running today and pick it up tomorrow.  Looks like the weather may not be good tomorrow either.  Unless it is pouring we will be running.

AM:
15 min walked on treadmill at 10% incline at 3.5 mph
15 min jog 5.3 mph
25 min elliptical machine

PM:
20 min walking on treadmill at 12% incline at 3.5 MPH

Today was an OK day. I tried out my new sneakers and the passed the gym test. Tomorrow they will get the jog test. If all goes well I will have them broken in and comfortable for the Army Ten Miler!

Yesterday Daisy was so cute, she got up on the armrest of the couch next to me. I reclined back and took a picture since it happens so infrequently.

Dinner tonight was a favorite, SALMON!  We had salmon with orzo pasta, spinach and some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.  It was great!

With all the miles I have been jogging my sneakers are starting to wear out some. I decided to get a new pair today. I was not able to get the same type I have and like so I picked what feels best. I will try them in the gym tomorrow since there is going to be rain in the morning and we will not be able to jog tomorrow.

 

I relaxed a little bit today and Daisy desided to lay next to me on the arm of the couch.

Y2W34 Day 7

Today was another day filled with video games and relaxation.  I hit the gym in the morning and got 50 minutes in on the elliptical machine.  I went home enjoyed breakfast and watched some TV then played Borderlands 2 for some hours.  I did take a break to go shopping and pick up some food for dinner.  But the best thing I got to pick up today was my wife from the airport!

Y2W34 Day 6

Reset day.  I was so tired when I got up this AM.  I got up a bit before 7am and had some breakfast and watched some TV.  I was not feeling ready for the gym so I took a nap and woke up at 10:30am!  I can’t remember the last time something like that happened.  I skipped the AM workout since I was still feeling sore from over doing in with the dumbbells yesterday.  For my PM workout I pedaled my exercise bike while watching TV.   Tomorrow I should be feeling normal and hope to get out there and get some good exercise in.

I watched the crossfit games on TV. I saw the women’s division. It was insanely intense. They are the most fit people in the world.

Y2W34 Day 4

Jog day!

I woke up with a big headache this AM.  I was hating life.   But the show must go on.  We headed out and I jogged.  I still averaged 12 minute miles even though I felt a lot slower.  My headache never went away so we cut the run short and “only” ran 4.72 miles.

After I got home I took a shower and some Excedrin and even lay down for about 25 minutes. It took a while but the headache eventually went away without me even noticing it was gone. Work was OK and I walked 3 miles today as my other exercise for the day. I can’t wait for the weekend and some extra sleeping in!

Today was an OK day. The only really bad part was that I forgot my cell phone at home and I did not even realize it until I was at work.

Y2W34 Day 2

Run Day!

We did good. We added some more distance and did 6.4 miles. We are ready. I think I could have done a few more miles but time ran out. We have to go to after all.

I pedaled my bike into work today. I wanted to do some more leg exercise and biking does it. Once I was at work and the adrenaline and endorphins wore off my knees were sore and my back was still. I did not even have any Advil to take. I did have some Excedrin so I took that. Riding home the seat on my bike came loose and tilted so I could not sit down for half my ride. Standing up on the mountain bike is no fun, especially with sore knees. Oh well, I made it and relaxed with some borderlands 2. I forgot all about my sore knees.
