Y2W49 Day 6

AM:
I skipped the gym this morning since we had a time schedule to follow today. I had cleaned out my garage last weekend and figured it was time to trash or scrap my old partial boxes of cable. If I haven’t used them in the last 10 years, I will not be using them any time soon. It took me over an hour to reel the cable off the spools and it filled the small bed of my Ridgeline completely.

I had originally offered my buddy Sean the scrap since he is unemployed but he did not want to mess with it.  I almost threw it out but in the end I decided to scrap it. We needed to get to the place before noon and we made it with 15 minutes to spare.  I was shocked to find out they were paying a dollar a pound.  Many years ago I was scrapping wire for 12 to 16 cents a pound. I left with $420.00!   WOW that was a surprise.

Right down the street from the scrap yard is Lake Frank.  We have hiked there many times and always like the place. Today was no different.  In the last couple pictures after the ducks there were woodpeckers.  I did my best to capture them but I don’t know if they can even be seen.

Not a bad day at all.  I made more money in two hours than I normally do in a couple days, plus we had a great hike on a warm day.  Life is good!

This weight workout rocked! I was feeling it. This was the only workout for the day. I wanted to do another bike workout once I got home but I was really tired. I did not have a good night sleep. I was up late trying to fall asleep and then got up before the alarm. I was tired today at work and was dragging once I got home.

Y2W49 Day 4

I went for a jog this morning! My wife was too tired so I was alone. I was slower than normal but went for a longer distance than I thought I would.

PM:
30 min elliptical machine

I am glad that I am getting back into the groove of regular workouts in the afternoon. Borderlands 2 was such a strong pull that I was missing half my PM workouts. I am putting a plan together to get back to where I was at. I feel better when I exercise a lot. I am currently looking for a challenge to work towards. I find it easier to have a goal that guilds me. I have a few in mind, I just need to pick the right one to chase.

What a morning workout!  I leg presses 950 lbs for 3 repetitions!  A new personal best!

30 min elliptical machine

What a day. I was pumped up all day with my good lift. I don’t even feel like my legs are really hurting which is a good thing. I plan to continue tightening up my eating and pushing in the gym and see how the scale goes. I am back on course!

Y2W49 Day 2

AM:
30 min treadmill 1 min walk 4 min jog as intervals

30 Min Bike

Today was an off day. I needed to work off site so I needed to either get up much earlier than I already do or do a short workout in the morning. I chose to to do the shorted workout. I did break a good sweat jogging so it was a good workout. I spent the day up and down ladders and reaching and bending. I also did not get my normal break times or lunch so I was running a pretty good calorie deficit all day. In the end I was slightly higher in calories than I wanted but not real bad. I am looking forward to tomorrow being a normal day.

Y2W49 Day 1

AM:
14 min interval jogging on treadmill
30 min elliptical machine

PM:
40 min weight lifting
6 sets Bench press
4 sets EZ-bar curls
3 sets Dumbbell dead lifts 50lbs

Today was a good day. My calorie intake was about 150 calories higher than it should have been but I was still OK with my day. I got a good workout out of both my routines today. I have been enjoying the intervals on the treadmill. It is less continuous pounding on my knees but my heart rate does climb as I jog a little faster for each following interval. I am looking forward to what my routine will look like in a month. Tomorrow I am working off site so my routine might be out of sync, but I will still get my time in.

Today was a rest day. We had plans to go hiking but settled in on the couch and never made it out. We took some naps and even did go grocery shopping, but we never made it hiking. We are both OK with that.

The Weekend is here!

AM:
30 min intervals of walking and jogging on the treadmill
15 min elliptical machine

PM:
60 min hike near Great Falls VA

Bonus workout:
cleaned out the garage, re-arranged all weight lifting machines and weights. Moved some equipment from my neighbor’s basement back to my garage.

Today was a chilly day but we headed out to hike anyway.We kept it short since we both exercised in the morning, were thinking about lunch, and needed to clean the garage today. The Potomac river looked amazing! there were even some crazy kayak using fools in the river.

28 min bike

Today was an exhausting day! I only had about 5.5-6 hours of sleep and it was not enough. I was dragging all day. I was heavier on the calories today as well. I had some sausage gravy over a biscuit as a morning snack that added 500-600 calories I would not normally have on my daily total. I enjoyed it for sure, but it did not do me any favors.

Dinner tonight was amazing! Filet Mignon, broccoli and brown rice.

I really felt this workout. My legs were burning during the dead lift as were my forearm muscles. It was difficult keeping a grip on the weights.

Today was another good day for eating better. I did a normal breakfast (I don’t have problems with breakfast time), snacks during the day of protein bars and a bagel with peanut butter and cream cheese (I need to tighten up my snacking), and a good dinner of ground chicken meatloaf with instant mashed potatoes and asparagus. I should have eaten less mashed potatoes, but all in all I was happy with today.
